Indonesia has been chosen to host the Honor of Kings Championship 2024, with game developer Level Infinite announcing an impressive prize pool of $1 million USD (approximately IDR 16 billion). Following the successful HOK Invitational Midseason 2024 held in Riyadh, excitement is building for this upcoming championship scheduled for October 2024.
This premier tournament will feature 16 of the best teams from around the globe, showcasing their skills in a highly competitive environment. As the host nation, Indonesia will have the opportunity to send at least one representative, with the qualification process open to local teams. A total of 12 Indonesian teams will vie for this coveted spot.
Currently, eight teams have already secured their places in the Indonesian qualification rounds through invitations. These teams, according to Liquipedia, are: RRQ, Talon Esports, ONIC Esports, Bigetron Esports, Kagendra, Alter Ego, Dominator Esports, and Voin Esport. The remaining four slots will be contested through the Open Series and City Tournament.
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024 marks the culmination of the Honor of Kings Global Invitational 2024 series. Announced in February 2024, this initiative demonstrates Level Infinite’s commitment to investing $15 million USD into the development of the HOK esports ecosystem. The series has already included tournaments in Turkey and Malaysia, with the midseason event taking place in Riyadh before the grand finale in Indonesia.
Championship Schedule, Format, and Viewing Information
The HOK Championship 2024 will utilize a Group Stage format, featuring a Round Robin Best of 3 (BO3) series. Teams that successfully navigate the group stages will advance to the playoffs, which will follow a Double Elimination Bracket format.
