The biggest addition this year is a brand new mid-season tournament featuring the top 18 teams from all competitive regions. This global showdown will pit the best against the best, adding a whole new layer of excitement to the year.
Standardization and Streamlining
Garena is also revamping the regional leagues in Brazil, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East & Africa. These leagues will now all be known as the Free Fire World Series (FFWS), making the esports ecosystem easier to follow for fans around the world.

The mid-season tournament is scheduled for July, with the winner automatically qualifying for the prestigious FFWS Global Finals happening in November. While specific details about the prize pools for both events are still under wraps, it promises to be an epic battle for Free Fire glory.

While FF’s viewership numbers dipped slightly in 2023, Garena’s continued investment in esports suggests they’re aiming to reignite the competitive scene. Additionally, the return of FF to India, a massive market for the game, could be a major boost for player engagement and viewership.
