Hero Umbrosa’s Backstory from Light to Shadow
Once known as Jing, Umbrosa was a gifted warrior of the Feather Clan and ascended as Dong Jun, the “war god of light”. Jing was used to be happy and warm. Her radiant wings symbolize hope and guide people through wars. 20 years ago, however, Jing and her clan were betrayed during catastrophic Tiank invasion. Despite their desperate fight, no divine aid came. Jing perished alongside her people, marking the end of the Feather Clan—or so it seemed. Jing resurrected decades later and emerged not as the joyful warrior of light, but as Umbrosa.
Umbrosa’s name derived from the Latin word of “shadow”. Her wings, once pure white, are now blood-streaked blades. Now Umbrosa fights not for hope, but for vengeance—seeing peace as an illusion built on betrayal. Her alliances are as complex as her identity. Umbrosa crosses paths with former acquaintances like Dong Huang Taiyi (now a strange ally), and Algran (now an adversary). Umbrosa seems both a villain and anti-hero—a tragic figure of destructive rebirth.

Umbrosa’s Hero Design: The Shadow Dancer
Hero Umbrosa’s character design by Honor of Kings (HoK) developing team reflects her transformation:
- Appearance: White hair, crimson feathers, feather blades replacing wings.
- Theme: From radiant seer to dark avenger.
- Battle Style: A mix of grace and madness—like a war dancer reborn in shadow.
Umbrosa in HoK is developed as a duality hero: life and death, light and shadow, melee and ranged combat. Umbrosa’s combat animations echo her roots in the Feather Clan’s dancer-like fighting style, but twisted into a frenzied spectacle. Umbrosa not only fights, but also performs a “final solitary dance” that blurs the line between beauty and destruction.

Landing a hit on an enemy activates their feather blade marks and transfers the mark to nearby enemies. Skill 2 deals damage multiple times to enemies within range, and recovers Umbrosa’s health.
- Umbrosa’s Ultimate is a core enhancement skill. Actively using this skill boosts her movement speed and health temporarily, and causes her to briefly enter the Indomitable state. If Umbrosa dies while her ultimate is not on cooldown, she will resurrect slowly.
