Wuthering Waves Version 3.6 is almost here, bringing a major new update packed with new Resonators, story content, weapons, events, combat challenges and gameplay improvements.
Titled “Lamplight in Mirage, Sword’s Resolve in Heart,” Version 3.6 is scheduled to launch on August 20, 2026 (UTC+8).
One of the biggest highlights is Qingxiao, a new 5-star Aero Sword Resonator known as the “Sword Immortal.” She will be joined by another new 5-star Resonator, Jingran, as the story continues deeper into Xuanfang.

Qingxiao Joins Wuthering Waves Version 3.6
Qingxiao is one of the headline new characters of Version 3.6.
She is a 5-star Aero Resonator who uses a Sword, with a character concept heavily inspired by traditional Eastern xianxia and sword-cultivation fantasy.
Official character materials describe Qingxiao as a reclusive sword cultivator and a master of both the qin and the sword. Her exceptional swordsmanship has earned her the title of “Sword Immortal.”

Qingxiao is not designed as a conventional close-range sword fighter.
Her combat presentation focuses heavily on commanding multiple flying swords, transforming her sword intent into large-scale attacks while moving elegantly through the air.

The update will also introduce Jingran, another new 5-star Resonator.
Jingran is a Fusion Broadblade Resonator portrayed as a mysterious traveler who moves between the realms of Yin and Yang.
He carries a special lantern containing a supernatural feline spirit that can assist him during combat. After certain attacks, Jingran can shift into a different combat state and change the way he fights.
His featured 5-star weapon is Thousandfold Deliverance.
Together, Qingxiao and Jingran form the two major new playable character additions for Version 3.6.
The Main Story Continues in Xuanfang
Version 3.6 will continue the ongoing Chapter IV storyline, with the adventure once again focusing on the Xuanfang region.
Two new story sections will be added as Rovers uncover more mysteries surrounding the region and encounter both Qingxiao and Jingran.
Progressing through the new Main Quest will also unlock additional sword-riding exploration points, adding a new way to experience parts of the world.

Wuthering Exploration: Fogveil Pagoda
A featured exploration event offering additional objectives and rewards.
Gifts of Drifting Mist
A seven-day login event giving players additional rewards simply for logging into the game during the event period.
Together, these events give Version 3.6 a mix of high-intensity combat and more relaxed gameplay activities.
Echo Equipment Recommendations Are Getting Better
Version 3.6 also brings several quality-of-life improvements.
One of the most useful changes affects the Echo recommendation system.
Recommended Echo information will become more precise and better suited to each Resonator’s role and combat style.
Players will also be able to preview equipment results and compare detailed stats directly from the equipment interface.
The system can additionally recommend different Main Echo and COST combinations depending on the selected build plan.
This should make building characters easier, especially for players who are less familiar with optimal Echo setups.
Expedition Motorbike Gets New Themed Backgrounds
The Expedition Motorbike system will also receive a visual update.
Players will be able to unlock new themed Motorbike display backgrounds by progressing through specific points of the Main Quest.
These backgrounds provide another way to personalise the vehicle presentation as players continue exploring the world.
More Sharing Features on Mobile
Version 3.6 expands the game’s built-in sharing functionality.
On mobile devices, players will be able to switch between exclusive sharing images for 5-star Resonators and 5-star weapons.
Sharing support is also being expanded to additional content, including:

- Challenge scores

Mailbox Capacity Increased to 200
The in-game mailbox is also receiving a practical upgrade.
